due to the M18 rating slapped on V for Vendetta, i wasn't able to was it in the cinemas. however, a couple of days back, i managed to view the movie. during and after the movie, i was left wondering WTF is it M18. there's
no hardcore nudity,
no obsecne words and
no sex scenes.
not even the romping around in pg flicks.

fine so there was quiet some blood and violence..well maybe the censorship board is getting more and more stringent..

BUT..

yesterday, i watched Casino Royale-
the newest james bond movie franchise starring Daniel Craig. its PG. it has

mature sexual themes,
erotic foreplay,
violent and bloody fistfighting and
gambling- i actually got the feel of playing poker.
oh, and did i mention that bond got his balls whipped?

so WTF is it PG while V for Vendetta is M18?
if Casino Royale is PG, VfV deserves to be PG
if VfV is M18, Casion Royale should be like R21

the point here is, casino royale clearly deserves to be reserved for more mature eyes than V for Vendetta.

but why is V fo Vendetta M18?
WHY?

well i believe that it is because V of Vendetta
has an underlying message
and the message is

power to the people
that governments should fear their people and not vice versa
that the people's rights were sacrificed for forced peace and stability
that in the absence of opposition governments grow corrupt and tyrranical

so why is is M18 in singapore?
